Bobcat Bikes, a full-service bicycle retailer and repair shop in Athens, opened for business on June 6, 2023. Bobcat Bikes features new bicycles, e-bikes, parts and accessories for sale and repair services for all models. Bobcat Bikes is a Trek Authorized Retailer–the only one of its kind in Southeast Ohio–stocking Trek and Electra bikes and Bontrager parts and accessories.

Bobcat Bikes aims to provide friendly and trustworthy service and welcomes riders of all ages and experience levels. Owner Paul Carter and mechanic Tim Kirkendall Jr. have a combined 30 years experience in bicycle retail and are ready to meet the diverse needs of Athens County's cycling community. Local riders will also recognize Bobcat Bike’s east side location (4 W Stimson Ave) as the former home of Athens Bicycle, which closed its doors in 2020.

Bobcat Bikes owner and founder Paul Carter is a graduate of the Ohio University College of Business. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and currently resides in Athens with his wife and daughter. Mr. Carter got his start in bikes at Bike Source (Columbus) while a high school student, and he went on to jobs in service, sales, and management at bike shops in both Columbus and Athens.
